Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller/Office Manager to oversee financial operations and manage office functions within a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, ensuring accurate financial management and efficient office administration. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to organizational success through strategic financial oversight and operational leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation using software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, SOX, and regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements for non-profit, governmental, or public accounting entities
  • Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting and budgeting processes to support organizational financial health
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records
  • Supervise payroll processing and ensure timely disbursement of employee compensation
  • Implement and monitor internal controls related to financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and technical accounting standards
  • Lead audit preparations and liaise with external auditors as needed
  • Manage office administrative functions to support operational efficiency
  • Develop and maintain effective financial management systems utilizing accounting software such as Xero or Sage

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and governmental or non-profit accounting standards
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes
  • Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for various organizational types (non-profit, government)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and concepts such as double entry bookkeeping and technical accounting standards
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certifications (CPA or CMA) preferred

This position is integral to maintaining the organization's fiscal integrity while supporting overall operational success.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $7, $10,000.00 per month
