The Warehouse/Utility Worker is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing stock on the warehouse shelves/racks, making deliveries and/or pick-ups in the company vehicle and custodian duties.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Organize stocks and maintain inventory.
  • Examine ingoing and outgoing shipments.
  • Organize warehouse space.
  • Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items appropriately.
  • Rotate stock - FIFO - first in first out.
  • Process, package and ship orders accurately as requested by Shipping Supervisor.
  • Make local deliveries and vendor pick-ups driving company vehicle.
  • Complies with job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in the plant and corporate directives for safe performance of work assignment.
  • Must be trained to drive the forklift. Minimal forklift use on a daily basis
  • Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.
  • Keep warehouse clean and organized daily.
  • Take out trash
  • Breakdown cardboard and remove from work areas
  • Replenish paper towels and toilet paper in restrooms
  • Supply departments with glass and raw materials
  • Assist with maintaining outside walkways
  • Maintains ISO-9001 procedures and work instructions
  • Follow prescribed safety precautions and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) where required
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • 1 to 2 years previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

· Data entry and computer skills may be required.

· Team player with organizational and good communication skills.

· Ability to lift or move heavy products.

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required, with clean driving record.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate using the English language.
  • Dependable and Reliable.

Working conditions

May be requested to work overtime or weekends for special program events or deadlines. Occasional travel may be required. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.

Physical requirements

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/ cold, wet/ humid conditions.

Regularly lift and/or move objects.

Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
