Position Summary
The Program Director is a strategic and hands-on leader who oversees program design, delivery, and evaluation to ensure exceptional outcomes for youth participants. This role champions PYD's mission by building strong networks of volunteers, partners, and supporters while fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight
- Set strategic vision, program goals, and operational plans with Leadership Team.
- Oversee program design and delivery for quality and alignment with objectives.
- Manage budgets and resources for impact and efficiency.
- Recruit, hire, and supervise staff; provide coaching and growth opportunities.
- Lead data collection and reporting for evaluation and funder requirements.
- Conduct program reviews and update curriculum to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain funder relationships and oversee compliance.
- Support grant writing and identify new funding opportunities.
- Drive outreach to attract participants, volunteers, and partners.
- Cultivate relationships with agencies, corporations, and foundations.
- Represent PYD at conferences and events; coordinate internal event planning.
- Support internal communications, including newsletters, blogs, and social media content.
- Participate in staff meetings and cross-team collaborations.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
- 3–5 years in a leadership role in a related field.
- Strong commitment to PYD's mission and youth empowerment.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication; bilingual a plus.
- Highly organized; experience with data systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; occasional travel, evenings, weekends.
- Reports to the Executive Director.
- Manages the organization's program managers
The Program Director is an exempt position with a starting salary range of $80,000-$90,000. PYD provides employees with a generous benefits package that includes a 401(k)-retirement plan with 3% employer contribution, FSA and HSA plan, paid time off (vacation, sick, personal, holidays), health/dental vision insurance with a generous employer contribution, employer-paid life and AD&D insurance, and employer-paid short-term & long-term disability insurance. PYD maintains a hybrid work schedule and will continue to adapt work as warranted by the organization's needs. This position is intended to be a Boston-based position.
