Small Private Daycare Home – San Francisco, CA (Outer Sunset)

Shift: Monday to Friday, 11:15 AM – 5:15 PM (Closing Shift)

Pay: $21-$25/hour (Depends on experience & Early Childcare Education units)

Job Summary:

URGENT SUBSTITUTE NEEDED We need a SUBSTITUTE infant caregiver starting immediately for the following 2-6 WEEKS.

Join a warm, play-based in-home daycare providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care for infants and toddlers ages 8 weeks to 2 years 9 months. We are a well-experienced daycare and have been proudly serving families in the community for 44 years. We're looking for a patient, dependable, and playful caregiver who thrives in a team environment and enjoys supporting early childhood development through nurturing, engagement, and fun.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, loving care and supervision for infants and toddlers
  • Feed children according to developmental stage, including bottle feeding, hand-feedingsoft foods, and supervising self-feeding
  • Change diapers and assist with toileting routines as appropriate
  • Assist in daily health and hygiene routines, such as washing children's hands and faces
  • Write daily boardsheets detailing feeding times, nap durations, activities, andobservations
  • Create simple art projects with children at least once per week
  • Engage children in age-appropriate play, movement, sensory activities, and singing
  • Spend time outdoors daily in our beautiful two-level backyard in San Francisco weather
  • Communicate clearly and warmly with parents and the daycare owner
  • Support daily routines, including naptime and transitions
  • Close the daycare at the end of the day by cleaning, locking the house, and preparing thespace for the next day
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and emotionally supportive environment
  • Collaborate with other caregivers to ensure consistency and quality of care
  • Observe and report developmental milestones and behaviors

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Experience working with children under age 3
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and move easily between standing, sitting, and floorpositions
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Strong communication skills and excellent references
  • Patient, playful, and comfortable being silly with very young children
  • Willing to work as part of a close-knit caregiving team
  • HIGHLY PREFERRED TO BE COMPLETED BEFORE HIRING: Completion of fingerprinting, TB test, and general health clearance (including required vaccinations) required for onboarding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) units
  • CPR/First Aid certification
