The Ideal Records Clerk should have a willingness to learn, be technology savvy, and be able to think critically. This customer service position assists with internal and external customers in a busy front counter environment, as well as via email and telephone. This position also performs data entry using a records management database, physical record keeping and filing, and payment processing. Duties include but are not limited to reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy; retrieving a large volume of material; researching electronic, microfilmed, and paper documents that may be historical or complex; classifying, correcting, indexing, filing, storing, and scanning documents into a document/records management system.Other duties include:Customer service contact over the telephone, internet/e-mail, and in-person.Operating computers to perform query and data entry functions.Responding to information requests.Processing registration forms and accepting legal claims against the City.Recording documents with the Maricopa County Recorder's Office.IDEAL CANDIDATEAbility to think critically, follow procedures and know when to ask for assistanceAbility to provide effective customer service in an active public counter environment.Ability to answer a large volume of calls.Ability to perform cash handling duties accurately.Ability to multitask with competing priorities.Strong computer skills and data entry skills.Strong attention to detail in reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy.SALARYPay Range: $ $27.49 per hour.Hiring Range: $ $22.61 per hour.Pay Range Explanation:Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer.
