Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical lead engineer including the planning, design, and preparation of specifications and drawings, bid packages, engineering cost estimates, calculations, studies, and reports
  • Assists senior managers with preparing proposals to include the statements of work and pricing
  • Mentor and train civil engineering staff
  • Review of design work and engineering reports prepared by others
  • Conduct field investigations and provide condition assessments of project sites
  • Serve as company liaison to agency and professional association committees

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4-8 years of progressive design experience directly related to site/civil projects (experience in the Baltimore-DC metropolitan area is a plus)
  • PE or ability to obtain

Skills/Competencies:

  • Lead planning and design of a wide range of site/civil plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and agency reviewers
  • Solid technical writing skills to compose technical reports, permit documents, memorandums and other written communication such as email
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and budgets
  • Help expand the civil practice within region
  • Expert knowledge and experience in MicroStation/ AutoCAD and MS Office suite (experience in WIN TR-20, WIN TR-55, and HEC-RAS is a plus)
