Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Server to join our team at AFURI Ramen+Dumpling, a highly-regarded ramen restaurant known for its exceptional culinary offerings and inviting atmosphere. As the Lead Server, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our guests have a memorable dining experience, all while providing guidance, support, and leadership to our server team. Your dedication to exceptional service and your availability to adapt to dynamic shifts will be key to the continued success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic to inspire the server team. Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and constructive feedback to ensure exceptional service standards are consistently met.
• Guest Experience: Create a welcoming and memorable dining experience for guests by delivering attentive, personalized, and efficient service. Address any guest concerns or special requests promptly and courteously.
• Shift Management: Coordinate and delegate tasks among servers during shifts, ensuring proper coverage, efficient table turnover, and smooth service flow. Adapt to changing circumstances to maintain a high level of service even during peak hours.
• Quality Control: Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely food delivery, maintaining the quality and presentation of dishes as they leave the kitchen.
• Upselling and Recommendations: Possess in-depth knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and preparation methods to confidently make recommendations and upsell items, enhancing the overall guest experience.
• Problem Solving: Proactively address challenges that arise during service, such as delays, kitchen errors, or guest complaints, to ensure quick resolutions and guest satisfaction.
• Availability: Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure consistent coverage and support during busy periods.
• Table Maintenance: Oversee the cleanliness and organization of tables, seating areas, and server stations to uphold a clean and orderly environment for both guests and staff.
• Collaboration: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by working closely with other front-of-house and back-of-house team members to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant setting, preferably with experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests, resolve conflicts, and build positive relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• A passion for food and hospitality, demonstrated by a genuine enthusiasm for providing outstanding service.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and a willingness to step in and assist in various capacities as needed.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices to maintain a safe and clean dining environment.
• Familiarity with craft cocktails and sake is strongly recommended.
