Director of Preschool

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and passionate Preschool Director to lead our early learning program. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a high-quality, safe, and nurturing environment for children, families, and staff. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of early childhood education standards and licensing regulations.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Administration
- Oversee daily operations of the preschool, ensuring compliance with all state licensing and accreditation standards.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff while promoting a supportive team culture.
- Ensure classrooms operate at a high standard of quality, safety, and professionalism.
- Develop staff schedules, manage classroom ratios, and support teacher development.
Curriculum & Child Development
- Implement and supervise curriculum plans that support early learning, school readiness, and whole-child development.
- Monitor classroom environments to guarantee age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Support teachers in lesson planning, behavior guidance, and developmental assessments.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents through consistent communication, conferences, and family engagement events.
- Address concerns, questions, and feedback with professionalism and care.
- Represent the center in community partnerships and outreach efforts.
Administrative Duties
- Manage enrollment, tours, orientations, and waitlist processes.
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, staff files, and children's files.
- Oversee budgeting, purchasing, supplies, and facility needs.
- Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation protocols are followed daily.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience in early learning leadership).
- Director's Credential (preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in early childhood education, including supervisory or leadership roles.
- Thorough knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and licensing rules.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CDA
- Ability to multitask, manage staff, and maintain a positive, professional environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with preschool licensing, accreditation, and compliance.
- Familiarity with child assessment tools and quality rating systems.
- Ability to build strong relationships with families and staff.
