General Manager

About Us

Located in Uptown Oakland, our venue is known for its lively crowd, welcoming atmosphere, and dedication to great service, food, and drinks. We are a local staple for sports fans, families, and neighborhood regulars. Our group operates four hospitality concepts in the area and have plans for further growth in the near future.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day operations, developing a strong team, maintaining high service standards, and driving business growth. You'll be the face of our establishment, ensuring guests and staff always feel at home while hitting key business targets.​

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operations of the restaurant and bar areas
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor staff to ensure a positive and productive team culture
  • Guarantee outstanding guest experiences and promptly resolve any issues
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and Bar Manager to ensure menus are cohesive and enticing for guests
  • Monitor restaurant finances, including budgets, expenses, sales, and inventory
  • Ensure compliance with all city, county, and state health, safety, and alcohol regulations
  • Collaborate on marketing initiatives, local outreach, and special events to promote the venue
  • Maintain vendor relationships and coordinate supply orders
  • Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to staff​

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing in a high-volume bar or restaurant setting
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Solid understanding of restaurant/bar operations, cost control, and inventory management
  • Food Safety Manager certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficient in Google Suite or Microsoft Office required
  • Toast POS, Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Uptown Oakland dining and nightlife scene is a plus​
