SKILLED LABORER-CMD Position is responsible for performing miscellaneous

task requiring the highest degree of skill in the maintenance and care

of recreation areas, athletic fields, parks and playgrounds. Examples of

Duties Performs journeyman level carpentry and masonry duties Performs

grounds maintenance duties: plants, seeds, rakes, fertilizes and grades,

cuts, waters and trims fields and park areas Performs skilled mechanical

repair of power motors, tractors, and other equipment Constructs and

repairs chain link fences, benches, grandstands, playground apparatus

such as see-saws, slides and swings Performs other general duties such

as painting, flooding skating areas, trimming trees and bushes, setting

up and lining athletic fields, operating motor equipment in connection

with such duties and other related manual duties. Knowledge in

Sharpening Mower Blade By Hand Or Mechanically. Qualifications Work
requires high school graduation or equivalent plus two years experience

in the same or a related field or any equivalent combination of

education and experience required to perform the essential functions of

this position. Possession of a valid Driver\'s license required.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skill: Must have a comprehensive experience in

construction or maintenance work or any equivalent combination of

education and experience required to perform the essential functions of

this position. Must have general knowledge of the methods, techniques,

procedures, equipment and materials relating to various systems

construction and maintenance tasks. Must have mechanical aptitude to

operate various types of equipment that would be found in maintenance of

grounds and athletic fields. Physical Demands: Ability to work in

setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises; to

climb onto ladders, platforms and equipment; to work in extreme weather

conditions; to operate equipment requiring hand and eye coordination and

mechanical aptitude; to access and negotiate difficult places and varied

terrain; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to work

independently with minimal supervision Motor Skills: While performing

the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger;

handle, feel, operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands

and arms. Employee must have the ability to walk, sit, climb, balance,

stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and smell. Frequent periods supervising or

inspecting, including construction projects. Ability to navigate over

uneven ground frequently required. Frequently walking, bending,

standing, squatting, climbing, occasional requirement for sustained

physical effort. Visual Demands: Position requires the employee to

routinely read documents and reports for understanding and analytical

purposes. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close

vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral

vision and ability to focus.
