Automotive Salesperson Responsibilities

  • Greet & assist guests whether they're visiting for sales, service or parts
  • Assist the customers to find a vehicle that meets their needs with available inventory or place custom order (new vehicles)
  • Enhance the sales process by demonstrating the vehicles features & benefits in person or virtually
  • Follow up with unsold prospects by calling, texting, emailing and/or using social media
  • Must be diligent with using the CRM and other company tools to maximize opportunities
  • Assist customers in the completion of their sales applications
  • Assist management to increase sales by inspecting vehicles daily, reporting any inventory problems
  • Assist management in ensuring the lot is merchandised correctly to maximize sales
  • Assist w/ fueling & cleaning vehicles as needed
  • Attitude is everything

Automotive Salesperson Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience
  • Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the sales workday
  • Outgoing and friendly, especially while handling objections
  • Quality customer service skills and sales track record
  • Strong interpersonal and communications, in-person and over the phone
  • Persuasive and able to overcome customer objections during the sales process
  • Proficient in basic business math including percentages
  • Capable of learning and using web based CRM, prospecting tools, social media, etc.
  • Persistent, competitive and good work ethic
  • Focuses on the customer's needs to enhance dealership and personal sales

Automotive Salesperson Benefits
