Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Assist shoppers in locating products, answering questions about features and benefits, and offering personalized recommendations.
  • Conduct engaging product demos to showcase merchandise capabilities and encourage sales.
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts.
  • Upsell complementary products or add-on items to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Maintain an attractive and organized sales floor through merchandising, stocking shelves, and rotating inventory.
  • Manage stock levels by receiving shipments, unpacking merchandise, and ensuring proper placement on the sales floor.
  • Demonstrate phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders via phone calls.
  • Perform basic math calculations for transactions, discounts, or inventory counts with retail math accuracy.
  • Support cashiering duties including processing returns, exchanges, and refunds efficiently.
  • Assist with inventory management by conducting stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
  • Engage in product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of new or popular items.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth shopping experience for all customers in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • Prior experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
  • Supervising experience is a plus, especially if it involved training or mentoring new team members.
  • Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
  • Experience working in grocery stores or similar retail environments can be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for engaging customers confidently and clearly.
