SAIC is seeking a
Product Owner*
to join our team in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).

This position will be a hybrid remote role that will sit at the Pentagon.
The successful candidate will lead the transformation of our client's legacy software system, particularly focusing on the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) for the United States Air Force (USAF). This role involves driving change, creating strategic roadmaps, and ensuring effective implementation of modernization projects.

*Job Responsibilities*

  • Develop and articulate a clear vision for the DRRS modernization.
  • Create and maintain a strategic 3-year roadmap outlining EPICS, tasks, sub-tasks, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Secure client buy-in and ensure alignment with their strategic objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with subject matter experts, clients, and team members.
  • Gather, organize, and prioritize system requirements.
  • Decompose requirements into the government Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Allocate requirements to components and establish a requirements allocated baseline.
  • Lead and manage agile project teams to ensure effective collaboration and timely delivery of modernized components.
  • Perform detailed analysis of legacy systems to identify components requiring modernization.
  • Utilize a suite of tools and techniques, including Microsoft Schedule and Azure DevOps (ADO), to ensure efficient project planning and execution.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and transition guides.
  • Facilitate training sessions and provide ongoing support to ensure seamless adoption of the new system.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project.
  • Identify and implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of the modernization efforts.

*Qualifications
Required Education*
Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; four (4) years or experience considered in lieu of degree.

  • Proven experience in driving change and leading modernization efforts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical documentation.
  • Ability to work closely with clients, subject matter experts, and team members in analyzing requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with and/or experience in the Software Development Lifecycle, specifically Agile.
  • Experience leading and managing detailed roadmap development.
  • Proficiency in using tools like Microsoft Schedule and Azure DevOps (preferred but not required).

  • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
