Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., is excited to announce an immediate opening for a Permit Technician in the Beaumont, CA area. If you are an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, public-facing environment and takes pride in supporting municipal operations, we want to hear from you As a Permit Technician, you will be the first point of contact for residents, contractors, and developers at the permit counter. Your role will be vital in ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely processing of permits.

What You'll Do

  • Provide customer support at the counter and over the phone.
  • Review permit applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Calculate and collect permit fees.
  • Process and issue building permits.
  • Ensure all conditions of approvals are met prior to issuance.
  • Assist the public with completing permit applications.
  • Verify all necessary project approvals are obtained.
  • Notify applicants when construction documents and/or permits are ready.
  • Coordinate and route documents for plan review and approval.
  • Help resolve resident inquiries and complaints.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional who can balance technical accuracy with exceptional service.

  • ICC Permit Tech Certification.
  • Counter Technician and municipal experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Permit Technician in Municipality.
  • Knowledge of permitting software.
  • Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
