We work with residential, commercial, and industrial clients, handling a wide range of electrical installations, upgrades, and service projects. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Permit Technician to support our operations team and help keep projects moving on schedule.

Position Summary

The Permit Technician is responsible for coordinating, submitting, tracking, and managing permits required for electrical projects. This role serves as a key liaison between our company, local jurisdictions, utility companies, and customers. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working with multiple agencies and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications to city, county, and state agencies.
  • Track permit status, follow up with municipalities, and ensure timely approvals.
  • Maintain accurate records of permit documents, revisions, fees, and approvals.
  • Communicate permit requirements to project managers, electricians, and clients.
  • Review plans, drawings, and documentation for completeness prior to submission.
  • Coordinate inspections and final sign-offs with inspectors and project teams.
  • Monitor changes in permitting requirements and update internal processes as needed.
  • Assist with utility notifications, service upgrades, meter releases, and related tasks.
  • Support administrative and project workflow as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in permitting, construction administration, or municipal processes (preferred).
  • Knowledge of electrical construction or related trades is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to read and understand basic construction documents and site plans.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, permitting portals, and office software.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $28.95 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
