Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all designated pre-meal meetings.
  • Understand Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to ensure proper set up and service of the event.
  • Provide friendly, professional guest service with genuine care.
  • Respond promptly, politely and effectively to guests' inquiries, requests and concerns. Know when to alert a Banquet Captain or Banquet Manager, should the need arise.
  • Prepare coffee breaks, buffets and action stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in banquet event order.
  • Set up tables to include silverware and china.
  • Greet guests and present the menu. Be familiar with menu offerings to include ingredients in the event of any dietary restrictions.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests to the kitchen or Banquet Captain
  • Serve alcohol/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.
  • Have detailed knowledge of our Banquet Menus, Wedding Menus, and all Package Pricing for all areas of Evermore Orlando Resort.
  • Meet all Safety and Sanitation requirements and proper training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Banquet Server or similar role, in a resort or hotel setting.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, guests, and co-workers.
  • Strong Team Player with results-driven attitude
  • Knowledge of Banquet Operations and how the resort departments work collaboratively to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of quality food service techniques and standards.
  • Certification of TIPs requirements (beverage handling certification) –
  • Certification of SafeStaff Foodhandler
  • Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner.
  • Adhere to property and company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Outstanding organizational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, an ever-changing environment and prioritize job duties.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable record.
  • Alcohol Service Training, Food safety and applicable sanitation training & certification.
  • Capable of working varied shifts, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to safely lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach periodically.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, work activities can occur inside and outside.
  • Ability to lift and carry food service trays weighing 30+ pounds.
  • Ability to push carts and queen marys weighing 50+ pounds.
