Engineering Project Specialist

Overview

The Engineering Project Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the efficient and organized execution of Engineering projects. This position is responsible for assisting the construction team in various aspects of project documentation control, coordination, and management. The Engineering Project Specialist ensures that project activities are properly documented, tracked, and filed, contributing to the successful completion of construction projects within specified timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities

· Process, track, and maintain project documents such as meeting minutes, pay applications, change orders, construction and inspection logs, submittals, RFIs, project photos and videos, contractor closeout documentation, testing laboratory reports, and permits

· Schedule project meetings, records meeting minutes, and disseminate outcomes and action items to relevant stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment.

· Review Pay applications for accuracy and completeness of documentation

· Assist in financial tracking and reporting by ensuring timely processing and filing of all required financial documentation

· Draft, process, and document change orders, facilitating proper documentation and communication of changes to the project scope

· Collaborate with project team members to address change order requests promptly

· Maintain organized filing systems for daily construction and inspection logs, ensuring accurate recording of project activities and compliance with regulatory standards

· Track, process, and file submittals and RFIs, fostering effective communication among project team members, contractors, and stakeholders

· Ensure timely responses and adherence to project specifications and regulatory requirements

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

· Non-Exempt – Full-Time Temp - Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

· Must be available to work additional hours as needed

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

· In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications

· Associate's degree (AA/AS); or 2-year technical certificate

· Two (2) years of experience

· A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
