A Day in the Life of a Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer, your day will be filled with hands-on technical challenges and rewarding collaboration. You'll deploy and configure servers, networking hardware, and Microsoft 365 services, ensuring seamless integration and top-notch performance. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, support incident response activities, and work closely with senior engineers to evaluate new tools and automate processes. Every day brings new opportunities to mentor junior team members, engage with clients, and contribute to the success of our projects.
What You'll Do
- Execute technical deployment and implementation of network, server, and Microsoft projects
- Perform hands-on configuration and migration tasks for servers, firewalls, switches, and operating systems
- Maintain and resolve issues in networked systems and virtual environments
- Create and organize technical documentation for operational handover
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and serve as a technical escalation point
- Participate in incident response and disaster recovery events
- Communicate technical progress and solutions to clients
- Mentor junior engineers and interns
- Ensure all deliverables meet security, stability, and efficiency standards
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
- Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in network and server technologies. Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows PCs/Servers, MacOS, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra, Printers, Firewalls, Switches.
- Deployment Experience: Proven ability to execute infrastructure deployment projects on time and to specification.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to engage strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex technical challenges.
- Communication: Ability to articulate technical issues and resolutions clearly and concisely to both technical teams and client stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of network experience OR any combination of 5 years of education and network experience.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ Certification, Network+ Certification, Microsoft Certifications, or other IT Certifications are preferred.
