About the Position:
We are seeking a Trade and Distribution professional to join our dynamic, fast-paced team.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
Rare Disease Market Focus
- Lead efforts to design and build a tailored distribution network that enables seamless and compliant patient access to Edgewise's therapies: launching a potential first-in-disease, oral treatment for Becker muscular dystrophy and supporting other pipeline products
- As a leader within US Market Access, serve as a patient-centric culture champion and be exemplary in working cross-functionally to accomplish our objectives on behalf of patients living with serious muscle diseases
Commercial Distribution Strategy and Implementation:
- Lead trade and distribution workstreams in preparation for commercial launch, including channel strategy, partner selection, program design, contract negotiation, implementation and onboarding, systems integration, and process development/improvement
- Serve as initial and single point of contact for all day-to-day business initiatives and implementation for ongoing commercial distribution both internally and with third-party vendors
- Build cross-functional support for initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders including supply chain, commercial manufacturing, quality, commercial, IT, finance, legal, and others to ensure alignment on production forecast, distribution strategies, product shipping, billing and payments
- Collaborate with the field and home office teams to execute strategies to maximize product access with commercial distribution customers
- Establish and maintain state licensing, ensure all distribution agreements adhere to Federal and state regulations, and other compliance requirements
- As a trade and distribution expert, keep abreast of industry trends and changes and pursue innovative ways to improve treatment and meet patient access needs (i.e., new distribution approaches, consolidations, acquisitions, new laws, policies, and regulations)
- Develop and manage trade and distribution department budgets
Distribution Account Management:
- Establish and maintain partnerships/relationships with distribution channel customers including potential 3PL, Specialty Distributors, and Specialty Pharmacies, as appropriate.
- Identify channel and patient access-related key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure internal and channel partners meet or exceed expectations; lead agile team to diagnose and enhance program performance following launch
- Regularly attend virtual and in-person customer meetings to define both strategy and objectives as well as manage implementation and monitor programs; serve as internal lead for regular business review meetings with channel partners
- Manage and execute communications to channel partners include pricing communications, NDC changes, new product launches and any other relevant communications
- Work closely with all internal and channel customers to ensure appropriate inventory levels, minimizing potential for product disruptions, shipment delays and manufacturing challenges
Order, Inventory, Financial, and Data Management:
- Work directly with internal and channel partners on order and chargeback management, review and approve all purchase orders
- Design, obtain endorsement for, and manage returned goods process
- Surface and resolve any distribution issues including but not limited to damaged product, undeliverable product, purchase orders discrepancies and invoice payments
- Work with channel partners and internal departments, as needed, to ensure timely payments to and from commercial customers. Review and approve all invoices before sending to Finance for payment
- Identify required data fields for each channel partner; coordinate internally and with channel, patient services, and data warehouse partners to ensure all data flows are implemented and tested in time for launch readiness and beyond
- Develop dashboards and ad-hoc reporting on distribution, inventory, financial, and channel performance for cross-functional partners and executive leadership
Other:
- Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies; safe work practices; and company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- BS/BA with at least 12+ years' pharma/biotech industry experience in distribution and channel management, with at least 3-5 years in rare disease environment
- US market access launch experience with a commercialized product is required
- Successfully developed and built key channel relationships in preparation for commercial launch
- Demonstrated experience in designing rare disease distribution programs and negotiating agreements with trade and distribution partners
- Remote/hybrid role with 30% estimated travel to headquarters, channel partners, and relevant conferences/meetings as deemed necessary
Salary range: $250,000 - $325,000, title and salary commensurate with experience
