Reliability Leader

Job Description Summary
The Reliability Leader is responsible to ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical equipment at GE Vernova. This role will lead cross-functional efforts to develop and implement maintenance strategies, and optimize asset performance. The Reliability Leader will work closely with maintenance, production, and quality teams to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve overall plant performance.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities

• Reliability Strategy Development:

• Develop and implement reliability strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime.

• Use data-driven approaches to identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement activities.

• Maintenance Management:

• Oversee the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs on critical equipment to deliver improved uptime.

• Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and other reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Lead projects and collaborate with maintenance, production, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues and improve reliability and uptime.

• Facilitate communication between departments to align reliability initiatives with overall business objectives.

• Performance Metrics and Reporting:

• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and overall plant performance.

• Provide regular reports to management on reliability metrics, improvement initiatives, uptime improvement, and cost savings.

• Team Leadership and Development:

• Mentor and educate GE Vernova team members on equipment operation and care.

• Develop training programs and provide mentorship to enhance team skills and capabilities in equipment reliability.

• Project Management:

• Manage reliability-related projects from conception through implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

• Coordinate with procurement and design teams to support the timely delivery and supply of materials and equipment.

• Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:

• Conduct thorough root cause analyses for equipment failures and process issues.

• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address identified reliability concerns.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

• Engage with stakeholders to communicate reliability performance and improvement initiatives.

Desired Characteristics

• Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or a related field.

• Proven track record of leading reliability improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

• Skills:

• Experience as a maintenance engineer – 5 years minimum.

• Ability to read system schematics / P&IDs, and read and produce equipment drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and cooling/heating systems.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
• Experience with maintenance management systems (Maximo, L2L preferred).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Good communication, coaching, and training skills to develop others' technical skills.
• Green belt certification

• Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, maintenance strategies including TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).

• Desired Characteristics

• Experience with ISO standards.

• Knowledge of EPA and OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and reliability sCertifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Black belt certification.
• Experience defining and implementing capital projects preferred.
