Position: Project Manager, Lincoln Center Development Project (LCDP)

Department: Campus Relations - Performance and Campus Operations

Role Overview: The Project Manager will have a key role in supporting the planning and construction needs for the West Initiative and will provide support to all West team members in the execution of duties for the duration of the design and construction phases of the project. Primary responsibilities will include supporting the Project Executive, Lincoln Center Development Project, the Senior Director, Campus Relations and LCDP West Initiative team on general LCPA Planning Process oversight and functionality, including logistical coordination of construction around Lincoln Center's ongoing operations, including performances, events, maintenance, and public access. This position plays a vital role of the ongoing success of Lincoln Center and its resident arts organizations.

What you'll get to do here:

  • Assisting Project Executive, Performance & Campus Operations in preparation for leadership meetings and presentations to constituents, elected officials, community groups, and other stakeholders; maintain a "briefing deck" at all times up to date as well as respond to timely requests for ad-hoc presentations;
  • Assigned project management scope for specific sub-projects to be identified on a regular and ongoing basis as needed (ex.: garage studies, traffic studies, surveys, signage/wayfinding, specific areas of study and specific subprojects rolling up to larger scopes such as Amsterdam or Damrosch projects, FF&E, food and beverage, etc.,)
  • Ongoing Coordination between LCPA operations team for project site impacts, including logistical planning with the construction team and LCPA stakeholders.
  • Daily oversight of ancillary projects including capital construction projects, major maintenance, and other campus activities.
  • Create and manage project schedules, including Gantt charts for both internal use and organizational dissemination.
  • Coordinate and plan project schedules around campus performances and other activity in order to reduce project impacts- including scheduling of demolition and other noisy work, deliveries, overnight work, and any other project activity that requires scheduling around events, etc.
  • Drive and support prompt decision-making and design selections to ensure adherence to project schedules
  • Create project briefing decks and summaries in order to communicate project details
  • Communicate project updates with stake holders, including LCPA leadership and leads from resident arts organizations.
  • Other project related duties as assigned.
  • Daily check-ins with construction managers and site supervisors
  • Setting up, greeting, notetaking and otherwise managing site walk throughs and site visits
  • Interface between construction project and Lincoln Center Security to ensure proper access and schedule coordination is maintained
  • Track project expenses against approved budgets and communicate budget updates accordingly
  • Coordination of Campus Operations activity that overlap with construction, including snow removal, plaza cleaning, and loading dock activities.
  • Facility/engineering coordination including utility shutdowns and other adjustments as needed and staff engineer and utility staff overtime as required by the project
  • For certain projects, oversee reopening of the buildings/venues in collaboration with stakeholders:
  • Furniture & equipment installation
  • Implementation of cleaning/maintenance plans
  • Staff training
  • Contractor hand off transition (return of shanty and loading areas)
  • Restoration of public areas previously occupied by construction
  • Other project related duties as assigned

You'll be a fit if you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years' experience in project management preferred or equivalent years of related experience required.
  • At least two years of Capital Construction, Events, or Operations experience in a large, highly matrixed organization (preferably a non-profit)
  • Strong knowledge of construction logistics and operations coordination
  • Experience utilizing project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar) for creating Gantt charts and managing timelines.
  • Experience driving prompt decisions and resolving issues to keep projects on schedule.
  • Experience working with diverse teams including contractors, trade groups, arts organizations, and leadership.
  • Ability to clearly communicate project updates, create briefing decks, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to relate and communicate to all levels.
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 lbs. and moving around the Lincoln Center campus with members of the Operations and Facility teams.
