SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repairs for production machinery, CNC machines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics, including PLCs. This position fabricates machine equipment, identifies problems, and recommends solutions for layout and construction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Troubleshoot, repair, clean, and maintain a variety of production machinery, including CNC, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Fabricate machine equipment, order or fabricate repair parts for production machines per blueprints, sketches, or verbal descriptions, and maintain records of repair and preventative maintenance.
  • Install new machines, including adjustments for proper function, troubleshooting issues, and modifying as needed.
  • Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance schedules and processes for CNC and other production machines, then perform scheduled PMs and update the PM plan as needed.
  • Apply basic metallurgy in welding and machine maintenance, recommend types of material for use in maintenance and fabrication work.
  • Recommend and implement solutions to resolve safety or environmental concerns.
  • Perform electrical maintenance and modifications that do not require the services of a journeyman electrician.
  • Load, unload, and move machinery as requested.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, maintain an acceptable dependability level, and routinely use a computer system to obtain information and prioritize workload.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machine installation and repair with an emphasis on repair and maintenance of CNC equipment.
  • Experience with CNC Machines.
  • Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license preferred.
  • Able to design and build equipment, fabricate parts from blueprints, sketches, & verbal descriptions.
  • Must be able to read schematics, ladder diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Ability to effectively use standard hand and measuring tools to measure work.
  • Able to perform mathematical calculations to calibrate machines and fabricate parts.
  • Experience with Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Ability to use computer information systems effectively, and to implement new ideas and changes.
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently or in a team setting as needed by business demands; able to prioritize work based on urgency and scheduling needs.
  • Understanding of PLC logic and programming a plus.
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred
