Being a Paraprofessional at Allendale provides you an opportunity to grow professionally by gaining valuable experience and professional development in the area of special education and trauma informed care. Responsibilities:

  • Provides educational and therapeutic services to students in special education within a small class, self-contained therapeutic day school.
  • Under direct supervision of Teaching staff, provides assistance around instruction and classroom management to ensure a quality learning environment for students.
  • Provides supervision and support to students utilizing trauma informed interventions (trained during onboarding).
  • Attends meetings and on-going professional development trainings.
  • Helps maintain an orderly and welcoming milieu.
  • Adheres to attendance and punctuality expectations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of applicable experience desired
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Compassionate and respectful with interpersonal relationships
  • Growth mindset
  • Demonstrates flexibility
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Eligible for Paraprofessional License or Substitute Teacher License

On-site training We offer a 6 month mentor program and initial and on-going training and professional development in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and working in a trauma informed milieu.

Allendale's Specialized Educational Services Program is designed and dedicated to help students advance their academic skills, build self-confidence and independence, and identify and reach personal goals through an individualized K-12 therapeutic day school program.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $25.91 per hour
