Toyota's Corporate Insurance & Risk Management Department within the Compliance & Audit seeks a passionate and highly motivated
Insurance Risk Analyst
.

Reporting to the Senior Risk Manager, the person in this role will support the department's objective to minimize and protect the potential financial and operational impact of identified risks on the company while recommending and communicating mitigation activities to various stakeholders and executives.

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Insurance Risk Manager(s) and Senior Risk Manager in the various insurance programs for the North American region, processing insurance requests, creating/updating analytical reports, claims management, providing risk management support, and consultation to our internal stakeholders, including but not limited to additional administrative support for the group, and assist in protecting and managing the brand and reputation of the company.

What You'll Be Doing
Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Gathering and preparing information to be sent to the broker(s) for underwriting submissions of the various insurance programs.
  • Gather and analyze information received for any applicable insurance audits.
  • Ensure policies and other necessary documentation have been received.
  • Review the accuracy of all quotes, binders, policies, endorsement(s), and invoices that match what was bound/agreed upon.
  • Ensuring all corrected insurance documents are received and are accurate.
  • Support the insurance programs' various processes (i.e., preparing applicable accruals, self-insurance filings, etc.)
  • Loss runs and loss control reports – trending & reporting.
  • Assist in the development of any materials for presentation to various audiences.
  • Manage insurance program claims activities (i.e., collection of claim detail information from business unit for claims notification, claims to report to applicable insurance partners, receipt of accepted/denied claims acknowledgment, etc.).
  • Work with the Risk Manager(s) and Senior Risk Manager to support loss control program activities, including field training and education, general inquiries, and any other mitigation activities, and establish strategic plans that address the implementation and execution of new and existing risk control services.
  • Assist in identifying exposures, developing, and recommending creative and alternative solutions to complex risks, implementing approved programs, promoting loss prevention, updating and monitoring compliance with insurance procedures, and managing safety/risk management manuals.
  • Assist in providing risk management-related consulting to clients throughout the North American Region, such as assessing risks presented through contracts and agreements and effectively recommending, approving, or rejecting appropriate contractual terms and conditions.
  • Plan, coordinate, participate, and/or manage projects with internal stakeholders as appropriate, including scheduling periodic claims review meetings and stewardships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist in coordinating the management of the specialized program currently in effect with North American and Japanese suppliers.
  • Alongside Corporate Insurance & Risk Management, this position will interface with insurance brokers and consultants in developing strategies to achieve the desired business objectives.
  • Work towards increasing key stakeholders familiarity with the insurance programs placed for Toyota in North America.
  • Provide assistance in the management and oversight of insurance requests (outgoing and incoming) based on contractual requirements and/or supporting information.
  • Assist in reporting and compliance for applicable government and regulatory filings.
  • Prepare, track, and maintain key departmental records, including contact lists, to ensure all records are updated and current in systems.
  • Work with the field to ensure bonds are issued in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Assist the department with special projects as needed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent progressive experience in multi-national risk management or insurance-related field
  • Experience in overseeing complex management of various insurance claims
  • Prior experience in Property, Casualty (especially Workers Compensation), and/or Specialty Lines of Insurance
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with risk management information database software, such as Riskonnect.
  • Proficiency in Lucid and/or other analytical applications.
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must possess general knowledge of casualty and property insurance programs.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 5%
  • Demonstrated commercial insurance experience, preferably with exposure to brokerage environments (e.g., Aon, Marsh, Lockton, or similar firms).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint Excel, and Outlook)

Added bonus if you have

  • Certification in Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
