Field Service Technician

Description Clean Harbors in Fargo, ND is seeking a Field Services Technician to join our safety conscious team. All Field Service positions require new hires to attend our two week Academy training out of state. Including respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection in a multiple number of combinationsWork in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsWork in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosiveWork in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearanceWork at elevations including working from ladders and scaffoldingAssist in field sampling activities and calibration of metersClimb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containersWork extended (> 8 hrs.) time periodsAttend all compliance and safety update meetingsInspect drums for container integrity and regulatory complianceSafe loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous wasteConduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessaryFollow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rulesSafely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirementsSafely observe all corporate operating guidelines and proceduresObserve all company environmental health and safety operating guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedBy position, ability to be on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other weekBy position, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materialsQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Valid Driver's license and clean MVRReliable transportationAbility to perform physical functions per Key ResponsibilitiesThis position includes emergency response, a continuing condition of employment is agreeing to be on-call; on occasion working on weekends and holidays will be required; emergency response situations can extend beyond 8 hours, up to 12-24 hrs.Perform physical functions per job requirementsSuccessfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by positionPer OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR , employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.Previous relevant labor experience Clean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer.Clean Harbors is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.
