Senior Network Architect – Hybrid (3 days onsite, Chicago, IL)

Potential Contract-to-Hire | W2 Candidates Only | Local to Chicago

on-prem, cloud, and colocation networking

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain
    hybrid network solutions
    across on-prem, cloud (Azure/AWS), and colocation environments.
  • Serve as the
    bridge between network engineering and cloud architecture teams
    , driving modernization and standardization efforts.
  • Lead
    network automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
    initiatives using tools such as
    Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps
    .
  • Ensure all solutions align with
    security, compliance, and governance
    frameworks (CIS, NIST, SOC2).
  • Partner closely with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership in an
    Agile environment
    .

Key Projects

  • Expanding the global network footprint into
    colocation facilities
  • Overhauling major data centers
  • Modernizing
    hybrid cloud connectivity
    between on-prem and Azure environments.
  • Embedding automation and security-first practices into every modernization effort.

What You Bring

  • 15–20 years
    of experience in network engineering and architecture.
  • 10+ years
    of cloud networking experience (Azure preferred; AWS nice-to-have).
  • Expertise in
    Routing, Switching, Firewalling, Load Balancing, DNS, SD-WAN
    .
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (
    SolarWinds, NetScout
    ).
  • Proven success implementing
    automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions)
    .
  • Financial services industry experience
    a plus;
    CCIE/CCNP
    certifications preferred but not required.
