Position Summary:
Operating with minimal supervision, the Service Project Manager leads and oversees small to medium-scale electrical service projects from inception through completion. This position exercises discretion and independent judgment in project planning, client management, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. The role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and profitability while fostering strong customer relationships and providing leadership and guidance to field and office staff.
What You Will Do- Manage service and proposal requests, coordinating schedules efficiently.
- Support field teams by providing training, troubleshooting assistance, and overseeing materials procurement.
- Perform electrical bid takeoffs and assemble bids for service work and small projects.
- Ensure quality control, workmanship, and compliance with electrical and building codes.
- Develop new and grow existing customer relationships.
- Meet with inspectors, schedule labor for service calls, and monitor billing for timely updates.
- Address customer concerns regarding invoices, while managing project planning and layout.
- Independently make decisions, attend client and field meetings, and oversee project lifecycles.
- Proficiently handle PO systems, change orders, document control, and cost forecasting.
- Provide training for office and field staff, balancing client and company needs effectively.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Monitor jobsite safety and take corrective action when needed.
- Collaborate with other project groups for warranty and small work requests as a technician.
- Adhere to the PRIME Safety Program, complying with safety regulations, procedures and safe work practices.
- Maintain a physical presence onsite and regularly visit jobsites to oversee progress and assist the project management team as needed.
- Performs other duties as requested; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- Five+ years of electrical project management experience or relevant field experience.
- Strong understanding of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting practices.
- Proficiency in electrical estimating, including preparing and presenting job change orders, evaluating estimates, and contributing to new estimates.
- Proficiency with project management tools and software packages. Experience with project management tools and software packages, with a preference for familiarity with Accubid Estimating systems.
- Knowledge of and experience with integrated job cost systems, budgeting, report evaluations, and final costing.
- Proficiency building critical path schedules for projects and understanding construction sequencing across all disciplines.,
- Experience with design-build delivery models is highly preferred.
- Ability to actively engage in the construction process and accurately evaluate final "cost at completion" on a regular basis.
- Effective identification and quantification of project impacts, along with sound negotiation skills with customers for change orders.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing people and teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changing environments and priorities.
- Skill in eliciting cooperation from senior management and cross-functional departments.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work environment.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
