The Global Network Deployment (GND) organization is looking to hire a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join our Data and Analytics Team to support GND's fast growing operations. The GND organization owns the delivery of physical network
infrastructure for core data centers and Edge points-of-presence (PoPs) globally through planning, deployment, and process optimization. This role will own data analytics projects from beginning to end, utilizing business intelligence tools to produce dashboard, planning models, and analysis for the different GND verticals. You will work with demand planning, finance, networking, and other BI teams across AWS to deliver high quality and robust data visualizations and analyses. You will recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, data validation, and documentation. Your analysis will contribute deeply to the development of our strategy and drive impact against our business objectives.

Key job responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of BI solutions for complex and ambiguous problems. Successful members of this team collaborate effectively with internal end-users, cross-functional SDE, DE and Product Teams to solve problems, and implement BI solutions.

- Establish baseline metrics and analytics. Collaborate with business customers and the leadership team to track and report all key performance indicators (KPI) against annual, quarterly and monthly goals.

- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools.

- Creating and maintaining ETL pipelines across a wide range of data sources using SQL and Python, among other technologies.
- Driving best practices in documentation, coding standards, and data integrity.

The Intel & Reporting (I&R) team within the Global Network Deployment (GND) org is responsible for the creation and communication of operational and financial metrics to drive efficiencies within the different GND verticals. This is achieved by identifying areas of opportunity, performing deep dive analysis, and providing our customers with tools, dashboards, and reports that influence business direction.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
