Marketing Communications Manager
Overview
More than ever, our future success in the Great Lakes region, North America's economic engine
and the guardian of one of the largest surface freshwater systems on Earth, rests on our ability to reconcile the demands of environmental stewardship, social well-being and economic prosperity. Our sustainable future, more pointedly, depends on our ability to catalyze the region's prosperity and societal needs today, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
At the Council of the Great Lakes Region (CGLR), our purpose is to leverage our unique cross-border, non-partisan structure to create the first sustainable region in the world. We are doing this by accelerating the transition to a sustainable future by uniquely bringing diverse governmental, business, academic, and non-profit perspectives together as one to explore and solve the region's most pressing socio-economic and environmental challenges.
Job Summary:
The Marketing and Communications Manager will initiate, coordinate, and develop marketing and communications activities, campaigns, and media releases to amplify CGLR's messaging and regional voice, all strategically aligned with CGLR's mission and its programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
● Oversee the daily workflow of the Marketing and Communications department.
● Oversee synchronicity between CGLR's external communications and its programming.

Develop a deep and passionate understanding of CGLR's issues and ecosystem, in order to position the organization as a thought leader within the region, a known source for all issues relevant to stakeholders that leverages the content of other partner and non-partner organizations to define the conversation, placing CGLR as the go-to resource for sustainable development across the region, and in North America.
