This isn't just another restaurant opening—it's a celebration of craftsmanship, teamwork, and passion. We're looking for a Sushi Chef who embodies precision, respect for ingredients, and genuine hospitality—someone who will help bring our Hawaii vision to life.

Position Summary

As a Sushi Chef at DOMODOMO Hawaii, you will be responsible for delivering the exceptional quality and artistry that define the DOMODOMO experience. You'll prepare sushi and hand rolls with the utmost care, maintain consistency and efficiency, and contribute to a warm and collaborative kitchen culture.

You will work closely with our culinary leadership team to uphold the brand's high standards while embracing Hawaii's local ingredients and spirit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve high-quality sushi, hand rolls, and sashimi according to DOMODOMO's signature style and standards.

  • Ensure precise knife skills, portioning, and plating consistency.

  • Maintain the highest level of food safety, hygiene, and presentation.

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and management team to develop seasonal and innovative sushi offerings.

  • Manage product rotation and minimize waste while maintaining freshness.

  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving of seafood and sushi-related products.

  • Provide training and mentorship to junior sushi staff.

  • Foster a positive and respectful kitchen environment rooted in teamwork and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of professional sushi experience in a full-service or fine dining restaurant.

  • Exceptional knife skills and attention to detail.

  • Deep understanding of traditional and modern sushi techniques.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to cleanliness, consistency, and craftsmanship.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary:25 – $30 per hour (based on experience)
