Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide patient care and support in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient conditions.
  • Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the living space.
  • Assist with medication administration as per care plans.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance quality of life.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including those for Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care.
  • Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.

Experience

Candidates should have experience or training in the following areas:

  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring for changes in condition.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of caregiving principles including heavy lifting techniques when assisting clients. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality care and making a positive impact on the lives of others through their work as Personal Assistant Caregivers.
