Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacy operations by preparing and dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately following prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
  • Assist pharmacists with medication administration, including IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique procedures
  • Support patient intake processes, including verifying patient information and medication histories
  • Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring timely medication delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, inventory management, and documentation compliance
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support acute care and hospital pharmacy operations
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and infection control protocols
  • Assist in the preparation of medications for LTC pharmacy and critical care units as needed
  • Support the training of new staff or interns in pharmacy procedures and safety practices

Requirements

  • Valid pharmacy technician license or certification as required by state regulations
  • Prior experience in pharmacy settings such as LTC, hospital, or acute care environments
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and pharmacy operations
  • Experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques is preferred
  • Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients
  • Ability to adapt to various clinical settings including critical care units and outpatient services
