Role Overview
The Quality Engineer establishes quality requirements to ensure that company products conform to customer requirements and industry standards by performing the following duties.

Work Location:

This position is on-site at our Rancho Santa Margtia, CA office 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret customer orders and specifications for Quality requirements.
  • Prepare Job Quality Requirement documents to incorporate customer requirements into the company's Quality Assurance program.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection and testing, with acceptance criteria, to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Monitor Quality performance and conformance of assigned products from design phase to shipping.
  • Determine compliance to applicable standards and contractual requirements, advise other departments.
  • Review and evaluate work repair instructions; determine the need for changes to ensure compliance.
  • Review procured items' certifications to ensure products' contractual compliance.
  • Review and approve supplier's procedures and specifications.
  • Review Change Orders.
  • Communicate and interact with customers when needed.
  • Coordinate customer and 3rd-party source inspections with the company's Quality Control personnel.
  • Compile Quality Assurance documentation for customer submittal.
  • Support obtaining customer deviations when necessary.
  • Analyse the company's Quality Assurance program, suggest possible improvements.
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities to improve efficiency and reduce Lead Times.
  • Support internal audits, lead some supplier audits once qualified as Lead Auditor.

Qualifications And Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (with a strong metallurgical background) from 4-year college or university
  • 2+ years' experience in a Quality Assurance role.
  • 1+ years' experience in auditing preferred.
  • Experience in valve manufacturing environment preferred.
  • ERP system knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of government and industry standards as applied to Quality Assurance (ISO 9001).
  • Knowledge of ASME, NACE, API, NQA-1, ANSI, and ASTM Quality standards preferred.
  • Must be computer literate (PowerPoint, Word & Excel advanced level).
  • Must have good inter-personal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have creative thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to adhere to international business protocol (etiquette, time differences, etc.).
  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, welding, shop tools, equipment and health/safety requirements.
  • Must be familiar with inspection tools and techniques.
  • Must understand Non-Destructive Testing methods.
  • Experience in blueprint reading preferred.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of time.

Pay range: $80,000-$100,000 annually

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
