Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep/Line Cook to join our culinary team. The Prep/Line Cook will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and maintaining high standards of food quality and consistency.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
  • Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as smokers, fryers, and ovens safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and accurate order preparation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas, refrigerators, and kitchen equipment.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling and storage of food products.
  • Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menu items and recipes as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a prep cook, line cook, or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a barbecue or grill restaurant.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food safety principles, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a high-volume setting, while maintaining a positive attitude and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus, but not required.
