Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead new equipment design, installation, and process improvement projects at their South Carolina facility.

They're a global manufacturer known for precision-engineered components, advanced production systems, and a strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll take full ownership of mechanical design projects from concept through startup — working closely with cross-functional teams to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment, tooling, and mechanical systems for production operations.
  • Oversee equipment installation, testing, and startup while ensuring design intent and performance goals are met.
  • Lead tooling and fixture design initiatives with attention to precision and manufacturability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment and process issues.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to support fabrication, documentation, and training.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving tools such as PFMEA, SPC, and GR&R to improve process capability and quality outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, equipment engineering, or process development.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (assemblies, parts, and detailed drawings).
  • Proven success designing, fabricating, and launching high-speed or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong foundation in tooling and fixture design, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to lead technical projects independently.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for project-related installations or support.
