Project Engineer

Works with the Product Development Engineer and Advance Quality Engineer to quote, develop and launch new automotive glass products for OEMs. They will communicate directly with the customer on all matters concerning the initial launch of Windshields, Backlights, Doors, Quarter windows, and Sunroofs. Represent Fuyao at customer development events and meetings. Maintain documents in accordance with Fuyao, APQP and Customer deliverables.

III. Job Functions and Duties NO. Representative Duties

• Lead overall risk analysis for new product program regarding product characteristics, product process analysis, product validation etc

• Coordinate the team to prepare the material for product debugging to ensure the prototype and material can satisfy customer requirement

• Organize internal New Product Sample run to review material characteristics, production capacity, equipment ability etc

• Handle with customer demand for product; work with team to conduct engineering change on product design, process improvement, and equipment modification

• Participate in development of the new material/component/packaging material applied in programs with cost reduction plan to keep new product program running within budget

• Participate in identifying the production issues with materials and improve continuously

• Communication single point contact with OEM customers. Internal leader of Iron Triangle and OEM program. Several forms of communication are required: face-to-face meetings, emails, texts, verbal, written forms, etc

• Compile documentation for using and storing materials and provide training to plant

• Document the material standards internally and provide the standard to quality department for future testing

• Ask for the potential materials supplier list from purchasing, contact several most promising suppliers for more technical details

• Check the new part standard and work with industry organization to correct the attribute for new part to make sure it completely meets the industry requirement

IⅤ. Qualification Job Requirements Language Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

Languages spoken in the workplace are English and/or Mandarin. Experience More than 3 years automotive manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Previous positions of demonstrated dynamic matrix management, budget controls and timing chart creation.

Achievement with managing a broad range of products and services preferred. Education Bachelor of Science in Engineering fields or Business Management.

Masters degree is preferred. Physical Condition Safety FIRST Mindset is required.

Ability to walk or move around the plant for extended periods of time. Some lifting up to 35 lbs. with assistance is expected.  Other Requirements COMPUTER SKILLS - MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Preferred MS Project skilled.

Outlook is the email client. Also use of Skype, and SharePoint navigation.

Knowledge of and familiarity MRP/ERP software. PLEX is current shop standard. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities utilized on the job Professional Knowledge, Skills Expert skills in o APQP ( Advanced Product Quality Planning ) o PPAP ( Production Part Approval Process) Manufacturing processes-Hi speed assembly, packaging, preferred glass bending and manufacturing. Presentation - Oral and Written, Power Point or similar Leadership ability (w/ motivational & cooperative aptitude) Demonstrated superior decision making/leadership abilities in managing multiple programs to meet goals (quality, cost and delivery of programs) from concept through launch. Superior business insights  International business exposure, with demonstrated success working across cultures Training Required 1.IATF16949 training; 2.Training about the five reference books   4.Training about project management; 5.Six Sigma training;

V. Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed footwear. VI. Key Performance Indicators:
