Internship 2026 Business Development
Bedrock is seeking a motivated undergraduate or MBA intern to work alongside our early commercialization team as we define and execute our go-to-market strategy. This is a unique 8-10 week opportunity to gain an insider's perspective on the "0-to-1" phase of bringing an advanced autonomy technology to the $13T global construction market.
You will be a core member of our tight-knit, SF-based team, gaining tangible skills in strategy, business development, and partnership management. Your work will directly help us strengthen our value proposition and understand the nuances of the partners we bring on. We're looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and collaborative student who wants to bring a fresh perspective and learn what it takes to build a business from the ground up.
Why This Internship is DifferentUnlike a traditional internship, this role offers:
- Direct Impact & Ownership: Your analysis and deliverables will directly inform our 2026 commercialization strategy. You'll be a true contributor to the team.
- Direct Mentorship: You will work directly with our commercial leadership, gaining 1:1 mentorship and a rare view into the critical decisions of a venture-backed, deep-tech company.
- Building from Scratch: You will be helping to build our commercial playbook from its "early innings," gaining experience that is unique to high growth start up environment.
Potential Internship Projects:
Projects are subject to change as we are a fast-growing and dynamic team.
Project 1: Go-to-Market Strategy & Segmentation
- Help us map the partner ecosystem by conducting industry and market analysis on our priority segments. The deliverable will be a clear, data-driven framework that helps us segment, prioritize, and define our value proposition for our most important future partners.
Project 2: Commercial Pipeline & Partner Engagement
- After ramping up on our mission and narrative, you'll work with the team to identify new partners, learn how to effectively communicate our vision, and help build the deep relationships that grow into meaningful partnerships.
Project 3: Partner Program Design & Development
- Help design and build the world-class partner experience. This project will focus on creating the structure, processes, experiences, and success metrics that ensure our partners are realizing maximum value from our technology.
Ideal Candidate:
- A genuine interest to learn about the construction industry and a curiosity to understand the key players, intricacies, and value chain.
- A "no task is too small" attitude; you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where collaboration is paramount.
- Structured thinking and an ability to break down large, ambiguous problems into clear, actionable steps.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with clear attention to detail.
- A self-starting and adaptable approach to your work.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or MBA degree. Business, economics are common feeders for interest in this role, but we are open.
- Prior experience in a startup, tech, or other fast-moving environment is a plus.
- This role is intended for Summer 2026, but we are open to an earlier start (as early as Jan 2026) for the right candidate. Open to 2 to 5 days per week.
- The team sits in the San Francisco office. Ability to work hybrid, and ideally join us in person at least one day a week.
Excited after reading through all this? Please apply
Our roles are often flexible. If you don't fit all the criteria, or are in another location (especially one where we have an office like SF of NY) please apply anyway We'd love to consider you.
Join the team bringing advanced autonomy to the built worldAt Bedrock, we've assembled one of the most experienced autonomous technology teams in the industry, with deep expertise scaling breakthroughs across transportation, infrastructure, and enterprise software. Our leaders helped put the first self-driving cars on public roads at Waymo, scaled systems for Segment's $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue.
While others debate the future of AI, we're deploying it in the real world. Our systems are already installed on heavy machines across the country, learning on real construction sites and working to reshape the earth with survey-grade precision and exceptional safety. This isn't a simulation—it's autonomous intelligence working on billion-dollar infrastructure projects.
In just over a year, we've raised $80M, put our equipment into the field, and established partnerships with forward-thinking contractors who are integrating our technology into their operations. We're working quickly to close the gap between America's surging demand for housing, data centers, manufacturing hubs, and the construction industry's growing labor shortage.
Here, algorithms meet steel-toed boots. You'll collaborate with both construction veterans and experienced engineers, tackling problems where your work directly impacts how the physical world get built. If you're interested in applying cutting-edge technology to solve meaningful problems alongside a talented team—we'd love to have you join us.
