JOB DESCRIPTION

Examples of Duties:

  • Representative Payees services; manages clients Social Security or SSI benefits.
  • Completes annual budget for individual clients
  • Processes bills for payment submission based on budget
  • Prepares Journal Entries to record individual client deposits received
  • Monitors individual client's asset limits to ensure continual coverage of benefits
  • Completes Social Security Reports for individual clients
  • Works closely and often with clients, case managers, and guardians via phone to ensure client's needs are being met

  • Excellent customer service skills required (phone and written communication)

  • Prepare and process bills, statements, invoices and vouchers weekly for accounts payable

  • Prepares month-end reports as required by Accounting Manager. Prints and distributes reports to various staff

  • Generate and enter monthly journal entries to the General Ledger

  • Maintenance of Gift Card databases including issuance of Gift Cards to Human Services staff

  • Assists in preparation of financial reports, budget reports, statistical reports and audit work papers

  • Prepares daily deposits for Treasurer's office

  • Bi-Weekly payroll verification

  • Maintenance of billing database and documents and preparation of related correspondence

  • Maintains petty cash, distributes funds to designated staff as appropriate, verifies proper documentation and approvals have been received, request additional funds when needed

  • Process accounts through collection procedures and responsible for turning account over to collection agency, as needed

  • Use of Forward Health, other insurance portals and state computer systems

  • Receipts in payments for all payer sources and apply to proper system. Download/print/post explanation of benefits to client accounts

  • Review and analysis of monthly financial reports for accuracy

  • Preparation of provider payrolls including verification of input, data entry to computer system and running payroll

  • Quality Assurance tasks, to monitor fiscal reporting

  • Review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and county regulations

  • Crossed trained to provide back up to other accounting assistants
