- Supervisar cumplimiento de la normativa OSHA en las actividades diarias.
- Diseñar e implementar procedimientos de seguridad.
- Realizar auditorias internas de seguridad a instalaciones y equipos.
- Evaluar riesgos y establecer planes de acción preventiva y correctiva.
- Seguimiento a incidentes, investigación de accidentes y reportes de condiciones inseguras.
- Realizar capacitaciones de seguridad para el personal operativo y administrativo.
- Coordinar y documentar simulacros de evacuación y emergencias.
- Asegurar la señalización, el uso de EPP y el cumplimiento de protocolos.
- Mantener en correcto cumplimiento las normativas CTPAT y OSHA.

Job Summary
The Correctional Industries Supervisor oversees the daily operations of correctional industry programs within a correctional facility. This leadership role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols, and maintaining the quality of production processes. The supervisor plays a vital role in fostering a secure environment while promoting productivity and adherence to institutional policies. Candidates must possess strong leadership skills, security awareness, and the ability to manage conflict effectively to ensure the smooth operation of correctional industry activities.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of inmates involved in industrial work programs, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Enforce security measures, including surveillance protocols and CCTV monitoring, to maintain a secure environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and loss prevention policies.
- Implement conflict management strategies to address disputes or disturbances among inmates or staff promptly and professionally.
- Oversee inventory control, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance for all production processes.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on security procedures, first aid, CPR, and other relevant safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of inmate participation, program progress, and incident reports as required by institutional policies.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to uphold security standards and respond to emergencies.
Skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities with experience managing teams in a correctional or security environment.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, surveillance techniques, CCTV operation, and loss prevention strategies.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are highly desirable; ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies is essential.
- Experience in conflict management and de-escalation techniques to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Background in security or military service is advantageous for understanding institutional safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and effective coordination with staff, inmates, and external agencies.
- Ability to enforce rules consistently while maintaining a respectful environment conducive to productivity and safety.
