Position Summary:

We are "Golden State ADUs" a small developing full-service design-build ADU construction company looking to on-board a highly motivated, experienced to become a part of our team and ultimately enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is passionate about financial integrity and process improvement.

About Us:

Since Mid-2020, our team has developed into a reliable ADU construction resource for the local homeowners, developers, and contractors in the Sacramento region and beyond. Design-build various residential new construction ADU projects. With our experienced and fine-tuned dynamic teamwork, we look to further develop our team, our reach into the industry, our relationships, and to continue providing our clients with industry leading ADU construction services within the residential sector. This is a unique opportunity for a talented individual to put their skills to a test and become a vital part of a professional developing firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all company financial operations, including bookkeeping, payroll, job costing, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Develop and maintain job cost tracking systems to align project budgets with actual costs for ADU construction projects.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments to suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to validate project budgets, cost projections, and profitability.
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for the company, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of construction-related tax codes and regulations.
  • Perform financial forecasting and variance analysis to guide business decisions and project-level adjustments.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital, advising leadership on cost controls, efficiency improvements, and strategic investments.
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and intercompany transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Support leadership with strategic financial planning, business model refinement, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Implement and improve accounting processes and automation tools, particularly in QuickBooks, Excel, and integrated construction management systems.
  • Ensure financial data security and confidentiality, adhering to company policies and professional ethical standards.
  • Provide financial training and guidance to internal teams, promoting fiscal responsibility across departments.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience: (Age 18+ w/ access to automotive transportation)

  • General College Degree or preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Min. 2-5 years of accounting experience (preferably in the construction or real estate development industry)
  • Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Etc.)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Trello, QuickBooks, Google Products, YouTube
  • Effective soft skills (written/verbal)
  • Teamwork and team building abilities
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical/Strategic thinking abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, job costing, and construction project accounting principles.
  • Ability to Pioneer and innovate in a developing business environment

Pay:

  • Hourly: (: $75, – ( $110,000.00)

Schedule:

  • Full Time Position: 8hr Shifts /40hr's a week
  • Monday-Friday (9:00am-5:30pm) PT
  • min breaks included
  • 30min lunch break
