Position Overview:

We're looking for an energetic, self-motivated Part-Time Sales Associateto represent Pet Wants both in-store and at local pop-up markets and community events. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who loves pets, has strong sales skills, and thrives in fast-paced, people-centered environments. You'll be the face of our brand, helping customers discover the best products for their pets—whether in our retail location or out in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

In-Store:

  • Greet and assist customers with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Educate pet owners on product benefits, ingredients, and uses.
  • Operate the register, process transactions, and fulfill curbside/online orders.
  • Keep the store tidy, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Receive and label incoming products and monitor inventory.
  • Deliver local customer orders as needed.
  • Help create social media content to highlight products, events, and promotions.
  • Support overall sales efforts, including suggestive selling.

Pop-Up Events:

  • Represent Pet Wants at local vendor markets and community events.
  • Load, transport, and set up 10'x10' pop-up tents and displays.
  • Engage with event attendees, promote and sell products, and manage transactions.
  • Tear down and return materials safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure branding and presentation are professional and inviting.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about pets and their well-being.
  • Sales experience is required; pet industry experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with a friendly, energetic personality and a customer-first mindset.
  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
  • Able to lift 40+ lbs. and work on your feet for long periods.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
