Our PayPal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Global Developer Relations to lead and scale our Developer Relations team. In this executive position, you will play a crucial role in building, nurturing, and advocating for strong relationships within the developer community. Your leadership will ensure our products are well-understood, widely adopted, and responsive to the needs of developers
Job Description:
Specifically, this executive will:
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance our platform and foster a thriving developer ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and marketing to align developer programs with organizational goals.
- Champion our developer programs by hosting conferences and events that ensure robust connectivity and visibility within the industry.
- Act as the primary advocate for developers, amplifying their voices and feedback to influence product development and enhancements.
- Build and engage a network of over 3 million developers globally who visit our portal annually, ensuring their experiences with our tooling and capabilities are optimized.
- Support the diverse needs of over 30 million small businesses that rely on developers for effective tool adoption and simplification of their operations.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the global developer relations team
- Build and scale outreach to enhance platform ecosystems, ensuring alignment with developer needs.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Partnerships, Marketing, and Executive teams to deliver on the top priorities of developer communities.
- Be the developer-first advocate for product launches, ensuring seamless integration and support for developers.
- Lead the strategy for developer-facing initiatives, including go-to-market and funding strategies.
- Drive the creation and execution of developer accelerator programs that enable rapid adoption and innovation.
- Partner with customer-facing engineering teams that support customers in integrating with our developer platforms.
- Maintain and nurture relationships within the developer ecosystem to promote excellent developer experience and best practices.
- Develop and support educational programs that help customers quickly learn and utilize our services effectively.
- Represent the company at conferences, write blog posts and whitepapers, create workshops, and develop proof-of-concept applications to showcase our platforms.
- Build a thriving developer community that fosters an active developer community that assists merchants, answers questions, and evangelizes our products.
- Create forums and opportunities for developers to represent small merchants, ensuring their feedback influences product development.
Qualifications
- Proven 12+ years in a similar leadership role within a technology-driven organization, demonstrating the ability to scale developer-focused initiatives.
- Strong track record in building and nurturing partnerships with technology leaders in developer technologies, including cutting-edge work in areas like AI, APIs/SDKs, Crypto, and global Developer operations.
- Deep knowledge and experience with the developer ecosystem, tools, and technologies, with a passion for open source and developer communities.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling organizations and initiatives, driving exponential growth, and delivering tangible results in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent public speaking, writing, and presentation skills.
- Previous experience navigating and successfully operating in a highly matrixed organization
- Global experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.
- Experience working in high-growth, technology-driven organizations.
