Job Title: Machine Operator

Position Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating the assigned machine section in response to production needs, maintaining product quality, and adhering to company standards. This role ensures that all Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) tasks are completed and that equipment issues are reported promptly.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Duties

  • Operate assigned machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures and production requirements.
  • Monitor process parameters and communicate any mechanical or process issues to the Team Leader.
  • Completely required CTQ and process-related tasks to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Perform quality checks to verify that filament lines and mats meet required standards.
  • Weigh and record roll data in the BANN system.
  • Wrap finished rolls, trim at the winder and foulard, and safely operate winding equipment.
  • Pull and deliver product samples to the lab for testing.
  • Prep filament bobbins, perform inspections, and maintain filament tables.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning ceramic tips, bars, sensors, and tubes.
  • Perform re-lacing and replacement tasks following any equipment breakouts.
  • Maintain proper fiber levels in loaders and inspect carding machine rollers.
  • Operate the waste baller and assist in cleaning and preventive maintenance activities.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety in all operations and tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, and permit-to-work programs.
  • Report all safety hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
  • Enforce safe work practices among all crew members.
  • Participate in risk assessments, accident investigations, and root cause analyses as required.

Housekeeping

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the assigned section.
  • Ensure equipment and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and free of debris.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to adapt to a dynamic production environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and quality standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs.] as needed.
  • Work may involve exposure to heat, noise, and industrial materials.

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
