Job Summary:

The Accountant will assist in managing financial records, ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of accounts, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role involves handling various accounting tasks such as data entry, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry & Record Keeping:

  • Enter financial transactions into accounting software (QuickBooks).
  • Maintain and update accounting records, spreadsheets, and ledgers.
  • Ensure all records are accurate and complete.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process invoices and manage outgoing payments.
  • Enter customer invoices into accounting software.
  • Assist with AIA billing and tracking of statement of values.
  • Track and follow up on overdue accounts.

Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheets regularly.
  • Ensure proper matching of accounts and report discrepancies.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Assist with Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare financial reports and summaries.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documents and reports.

General Administrative Support:

  • Answer inquiries related to accounting processes or billing concerns.
  • Provide general support to the accounting team.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for accounting records.

Compliance & Regulations:

  • Ensure all accounting procedures comply with company policies and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of construction accounting required.
  • Experience executing AIA billing mandatory.
  • Proficiency submitting pay apps through GC Pay, ProCore, and Textura a must.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month-end or year-end closing).
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting is preferred
