Role Overview

This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Enterprise Products & Platforms (EPP) Team, focused on Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions including Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Financial Consolidation and Close, and Account Reconciliation product areas, where our vision is to "Always be a... people led, product centric, forward-thinking & trusted technology partner".

The Sr. Manager Technical Product Management is responsible for overall technology portfolio strategy and the successful delivery of company technology products within their portfolio. Has a deep understanding of business goals/strategy and interfaces with the business, technology, other portfolio teams and product leaders to develop EPP portfolio strategies and approaches that maximize value for business partners. This position reports to the Director, Technical Product Management.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology leader to help shape the transformation of EPP products and services to the entire McDonald's environment.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Leadership

  • Responsible for defining the assigned product portfolio vision, strategy, roadmap and backlog, driving collaboration across product teams and portfolios to address complex / multifaceted business challenges, providing technical thought leadership and ensuring continuous flow of value for the business

Drive and Influence Innovation

  • Convenes business leaders to present and influence company technology solutions that drive innovative, strategically important outcomes

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership

  • Partners with senior business leaders, technical product managers, and / or architects to determine the long-term strategy viability of systems/products, from business and technology standpoints

Communication and Business Acumen

  • Uses effective communication and business acumen to collaborate and keep key stakeholders informed of the latest technology advancements / solutions for the business.
  • Explains, advises and negotiates complex technology strategies in a way that can be readily understood and adopted by non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborates among cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, design, quality assurance, and operations to ensure alignment on portfolio priorities, timelines, and deliverables

Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence

  • Stays informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and industry best practices. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder interviews to identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Utilizes data analytics, user feedback, and performance metrics to make informed product decisions and eliminate technical debt. Monitors and reports OKRs, tracks product usage patterns, and iterates to optimize end-user engagement, value-add outcomes and satisfaction.

Problem Solving and Decision Making

  • Decomposes complex problems into straight-forward solutions. Consistently brings strong, data-driven business, and technical judgment to decisions

Continuous Improvement and Feedback

  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and team members to refine Agile / Product strategies, including backlog prioritization, resourcing, and iteration of portfolio strategies and product approaches.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technical product management or relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 8+ years relevant experience with a Master's degree
  • Experience leading technical teams and Agile self-managed teams that manage a strategically important product and/or a suite of products
  • Experience in influencing senior executives (VPs, SVP, CxO), and setting expectations for major cross-functional initiatives

  • Excellent Leadership, including the ability to set clear goals and expectations, leading teams and partners through change, motivate and coach product teams, identify and mitigate impediments to success, create a safe environment to learn, challenge, accept risk taking and a willingness to be wrong
  • Broad technical knowledge in assigned domain area, including the latest ITIL technology trends or related methodologies
  • Experience applying product-centric methods and Agile ceremonies, best practices and lessons learned to optimize ways of working
  • Highly experienced working collaboratively with a broad array of stakeholders to drive outcomes and solve complex technical challenges
  • Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, negotiation, influencing, business acumen, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong innovation skills to identify, develop, and make improvements to ways of working, services, or products
  • Strong critical thinking skills to address and solve the most complex business and technical challenges
  • Experience applying data analysis and visualizations to present complex business cases and recommendations to executive and nonexecutive audiences, make informed business decisions, and facilitate continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of the EPM product suite
  • Ability to provide thought leadership around EPM best practices and industry trends to drive optimization and improve end user experience
  • Proven track record of successful product delivery and portfolio management
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence tools
  • Functional knowledge of upstream and downstream financial systems and processes within a cloud environment
  • Capability to document current business processes and existing solutions, and to develop a roadmap for future improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in managing Record to Report (RTR) processes, particularly in closing and consolidation for large, multi-currency entities using FCCS Oracle applications
  • Experience with EBPCS application as it relates to financial budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
  • Experience working in product-centric organizations and/or product owner certification
  • Experienced implementing and managing IT General Controls (ITGC) to ensure SOX compliance

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $149, $190,310.00 per year.
