Job Summary:

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling, moving, and storing product efficiently and safely within the facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in a food production or warehouse environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adhere to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, unload, and move products using appropriate equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials in designated areas, maintaining compliance with temperature and food safety guidelines.
  • Supply production areas with required materials in a timely manner to support continuous operations.
  • Inspect product for quality and report any issues such as damage, contamination, or spoilage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and company protocols, while handling materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including cold storage and staging zones.
  • Record and document material movements and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Operate equipment safely and report any maintenance issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient material flow and production continuity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in a food production or warehouse environment is preferred, especially with perishable goods.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP and GMP, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts (certification is a plus).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60lbs, work in cold environments, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic math and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:

  • Work in cold storage or refrigerated environments.
  • Exposure to raw meat products, machinery, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
