Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the company's financial operations with a focus on construction project accounting. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in financial reporting, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, attention to detail, and experience in the construction industry. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Duties

• General Accounting: Maintain and update company financial records in accordance with accounting standards and internal procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor invoices, manage payments, reconcile accounts, and support billing and collections.
• Project Accounting: Track project costs, job costing, and billing to ensure accuracy and proper allocation of expenses.
• Budget Support: Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and variance analysis.
• Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Compliance: Ensure financial transactions comply with legal and company policies; support audit and tax preparation as needed.
• Cash Flow Support: Collaborate with the finance team to help manage cash flow and provide financial data for decision-making.
• Documentation: Maintain organized financial records and support document management for audits and reporting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (construction accounting preferred)
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with accounting software or construction project accounting tools.

Preferred:

• Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish)
• CPA or working toward certification (a plus, not required)
• 1+ year of experience in construction or project accounting
• Experience with renewable energy projects or knowledge of related financial incentives and regulations is a plus

Pay: $70, $80,000.00 per year
