Overview
NETWORK ENGINEER (BAMCIT):
Bowhead seeks a Sr. Network Engineer to support the Geographic Service Providers (GSP) Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) IT Support Services directorate located in San Antonio, TX. The Military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) IT (Information Technology) division supports the continued management and administration of DHA systems, applications, networks, cybersecurity, and telecommunications services for the PEO MS/J-6 through contractor staff augmentation. The Sr. Network Engineer is tasked with improving IT practices and mechanisms with consistent support to end users without degradation to local and DHA operations.
Responsibilities
Utilize the IT Service Management (ITSM) Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) v4, or latest version framework, to adequately provide end users consistent, available, and reliable IT servicesRapidly resolve issues and mitigate risks impacting business operationsEnsure administrative functions of the contract (timekeeping, reports, etc.) are filed with the contract leadership per policyAct as an on-site lead for all contractors in the branch as it pertains to these functionsDemonstrate subject matter expertise in network technologies and strategy for Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN)
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Computer Sciences, IT or business; experience can substitute degree requirementsTen (10) years of networking experience supporting LAN and WLAN activitiesFive (5) years of experience in a hospital supporting an environment with more than 100+ beds and military production networkDesigning and deploying a wireless network consisting of 1300+ wireless access points (WAPs)Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) trainingCisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certificationIntermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and VisioAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contactsStrong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodicallySECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
