MISSION

Technical and Business focused product manager position accountable for execution of Gilson's strategic global BU/Division/Corporate goals for sales growth and profitability through integrated commercial marketing activities that position Gilson Automated Liquid Handling (ALH) solutions to key market segments (leveraging the ALH portfolio market position and customer install base).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute technically focused market segment campaigns leveraging the breadth of product solutions within the business line
  • Gather feedback from customers, global and other regional counterparts, and field sales and service to identify new market trends and opportunities. Use this information to provide input to the New Product Development team to drive a sustainable competitive advantage
  • Based on building thorough market segment analysis and understanding, develop programs via campaigns and drive commercial team to win in the market
  • Provide market segment, customer and geographic analysis to identify new customers and areas of growth within the ALH business line
  • Integrate global/regional marketing dynamics into business strategy using analysis of markets, customer segmentation, voice of customer, and competitive environment analysis
  • Develop strong understanding of market trends, and build the relationship strategies required to grow faster than the market
  • Own product line partnership with key business partners ensuring successful marketing and sales
  • Develop new markets in alignment with strategic plan
  • Some travel both domestically and internationally to customer facilities, regional offices, and conventions/tradeshows

Tactical Marketing

  • Maintain extensive customer, technical and market knowledge of the product line
  • Responsible for the collection and organization of competitive and industry product related information
  • Perform sales training on existing and new products to enable the sales force to deliver application-focused presentations, understand competitive positioning and features/benefits/value matrix
  • Design and implement yearly commercial/market/customer focused global marketing campaign plan
  • Visit customers, make sales calls, give seminars and in general support the direct and distribution sales networks

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Minimum of BS in a Scientific Field (e.g. chemistry, biochemistry, engineering)

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, Commercial or an equivalent field
  • Experience managing/supporting a technical product line or market
  • Strong background in science related field

SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Life Science, Biotech, Environmental, Food & Beverage, and Pharm. markets
  • In depth knowledge of Automated Liquid Handling products
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional and personal relationships with key business partners and customers positively impacting business growth
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage a broad portfolio of analytical technologies in designing and scaling vertical marketing campaigns and programs
  • Strong team building skills and the proven ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Presentation and analytical skills
  • Experience and demonstrated aptitude both managing and prioritizing multiple projects
  • Sound knowledge of applications that are relevant to the above mentioned
  • In-depth knowledge of Automated Liquid Handling products
  • Strong problem-solving skills
