Truck Driver Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to transport freight across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient driving skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
  • Load and unload freight while ensuring cargo is properly secured and protected.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.
  • Plan and follow routes to meet delivery schedules efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and trip reports according to company policy.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, FMCSA rules, and company safety policies at all times.
  • Assist with load securing and unloading using appropriate equipment such as forklifts (if applicable).
  • Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance issues promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a truck driver, delivery driver, or route driver.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • Hands-on experience with various trailer types: reefer, flatbed, tanker, dump, and roll-off.
  • Knowledge of freight handling and load securement procedures.
  • Familiarity with forklift operations (preferred but not required).
  • Strong understanding of safety standards for commercial driving and cargo handling.
  • Excellent navigation and route planning skills.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with proper endorsements for assigned equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain high safety standards.
